Muscat: After Oman Air, Air India and Salam Air, more Indian private carriers have started their flights to India under the air bubble agreement between the two countries.

In line with its vision to strengthen international connectivity between Oman and India, while offering passengers with convenient and seamless travel options in the current situation, GoAir, has commenced direct flights from Mumbai, Delhi, Kochi and Kannur to and from Muscat under the air bubble agreement effective October 15, 2020.

The 14-year old airline will fly to Muscat from Mumbai and Delhi on Thursdays, Kochi on Fridays and Sundays, and Kannur on Thursdays and Saturdays.

In a statement, GoAir said, “The partnership between Wadia Group and OMZEST Group in Oman goes back a long way. The joint efforts of GoAir and M/s. Mezoon Travel LLC saw many achievements that resulted in key flight launches between the Gulf and India in the past. Air bubble operation is yet another step forward in that direction catering to the travel requirements of the VFR (Visiting Friends & Relatives) segment.”

“The air bubble initiative is one such step in that direction towards building confidence amongst the travellers in the current situation. GoAir is pleased to have successfully operated air bubble flights between UAE and India. It brings every individual at GoAir immense satisfaction, to be able to contribute in providing convenient travel options to our fellow countrymen through these flights. We are grateful to the government for trusting us to operate these flights and including us in the air bubble operations,” the statement concluded.

Meanwhile another Indian carrier, Indigo has also started operations to Delhi, Lucknow, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Cochin and Chennai.
