Second bulletin issued on tropical system in Arabian sea

Muscat: The Civil Aviation Authority, (CAA) has issued weather Bulletin No. 2 on the tropical system over Arabian Sea.

A statement issued online by CAA, said: "The analysis of the National Multi Hazards Early Warning Centre indicates that the tropical depression system over the center of Arabian Sea is located at longitude 64.8 E and latitude 17.8 N with estimated surface wind speed around the center between 17 to 25 knots (31-46 km/h)."

"The system will move in the southwesterly direction parallel to the Sultanate's coastal areas and weaken gradually without any direct impact over the Sultanate during coming 3 days with advection of high and medium clouds over south Al Sharqiyah, Al Wusta and Dhofar Governorates."

"Sea conditions will be moderate to rough along the coastal areas of Arabian Sea of the Sultanate with maximum wave height of 2-3 metres."

"The National Multi Hazards Early Warning Centre continues to monitor all updates of this tropical weather event and the Civil Aviation Authority advices the public to follow its latest weather bulletins and reports."
