Muscat: Under the auspices of His Highness Sayyid Theyazin bin Haitham Al Said, Minister of Culture, Sports and Youth, an exhibition titled ‘The Coast, Society and Protection’, the first by Juana Mullet, was opened at Bait Al Baranda in Muttrah on Monday.
Sayyid Theyazin took tour of the exposition which sheds light on the beauty of Oman’s coast, as well as the phenomenon of pollution threatening Omani coast and the beaches.
Sayyid Theyazin listened to a briefing about the project, which utilises art and culture to highlight problems posed to coastal ecosystems, including waste, and chances to restructure mindsets, thinking and behaviour, being the bridge that connects civilisations.
The opening of the exhibition was attended by His Highness Sayyid Tarik bin Shabib Al Said, Honorary President of Oman Environment Association, His Highness Sayyid Taimour bin Shabib Al Said, Sayyid Badr bin Sultan Al Busaidi, Under-Secretary of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth for Culture, and Ahmed Al Busaidi, Director-General of Arts at the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth.
