15-year jail term for child abuse in Oman

Muscat: Any person accused of assaulting or abusing children will face a jail term of 15 years as well as a fine of OMR 10,000.

A statement issued online by the Public Prosecution said: "Abusing or harassing children, exploiting them through prostitution or encouraging them to take a photo of their private parts in whatever way are offences punishable by imprisonment for a period up to 15 years and a fine of OMR 10,000. "
