Muscat: Three players from Oman’s national football team have tested positive for COVID-19, during a training camp organised for the first team in the United Arab Emirates.
Two of the players had tested positive on arrival in Dubai, when PCR tests had been conducted shortly after landing in the UAE.
“The results of the PCR tests taken on arrival revealed two cases of the coronavirus among players,” said the Oman Football Association. “We have taken all appropriate measures for their safety.”
A third result came back positive after COVID-19 lab tests were done for all the players at the camp.
Tests for the rest of the players were returned negative.
The players who have tested positive “will be subject to institutional quarantine procedures in place in the United Arab Emirates,” added the OFA.
