OCCI to organise seminar on VAT implementation

Muscat: Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry will organise in cooperation with the Taxation Authority a seminar titled ‘Value Added Tax (VAT) in the Sultanate; Mechanisms of Implementation’ through its social media platforms on Monday.

The seminar coincides with the advent of the implementation of the Value Added Tax.

The seminar, which would shed light on the mechanisms of implementation of VAT and tax compliance is aimed at acquainting the participants with the legal framework of VAT, to clarify the main concepts of VAT and the rules related to the transitional stage and how to prepare for it.

The seminar also aims to raise the level of tax compliance and tax awareness in the Sultanate, to raise the efficiency and to develop the taxation system.

The seminar would see the participation of Karima bint Mubarak Al Saadi, Acting Director General for Planning, Policies and Tax Compliance and Mohammed bin Jamil Al Saifi, Director of Policies Department at the Taxation Authority.
