Muscat: The maximum temperatures are likely to hit 50 degrees Celsius in the desert areas along with dust storms over open areas due to the northwest winds, for the next two days, Oman Meteorology said on Sunday.
Oman Meteorology said in a statement: "A noticeable rise in temperatures, as the maximum temperatures are expected to reach the end of forties and the beginning of fifties over the desert areas due to the activity of the northwest winds starting from today, until the next two days. Northwest winds may also cause dust storms over the desert and open areas of Oman."
"Weak condensation of low clouds (Khareef clouds) may be expected over the coasts of Dhofar Governorate due to the drought associated with the northwest winds," the Oman Meteorology added.
