Oman, Saudi Arabia discuss cooperation in civil defence areas

Riyadh: A delegation from the Civil Defence and Ambulance Authority on Wednesday visited the Directorate General of Civil Defence in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, with the aim of discussing cooperation in the field of civil defence between the Sultanate of Oman and the Kingdom.

The delegation was headed Maj. Gen. Sulaiman Ali Al Husseini, Chairman of the Civil Defence and Ambulance Authority.

The visit was part of steps to enhance bilateral relations between the two countries, in addition to exchanging expertise and reviewing other matters of common interest in the field of civil defence.

The delegation was received by Maj. Gen. Dr. Hamoud Suleiman Al-Faraj, Director General of Civil Defence in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and other officials.

The visit included a field tour of the Saudi Civil Defence Institute. During the visit, the Omani delegation was briefed about specialized training programmes for different levels offered to civil defence personnel.

The members of the delegation took note of the techniques and equipment used at the institute and the systems applied in the field of risk prevention and response to emergencies.
