Muscat: Omani artists displayed their creativity and skills at the Ishraqat Ahd Fine Art Forum recently.
Some of them drew the portrait of Her Highness the Honourable Lady Assayida Ahd Abdullah Hamed Al Busaidi, Spouse of the Sultan of Oman at the contest.
The function was held under the patronage of Dr. Laila bint Ahmed Al Najar, Minister of Social Development at the Royal Opera House of Musical Arts, in cooperation with the Omani Women's Associations of the various governorates of the Sultanate of Oman.
113 portraits reflecting a spectrum of the fine art schools to which Omani artists belonged, blended the national spirit with creativity.
The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth announced the winners of the competition.
Artist Nada bint Abdullah Al Roshdi grabbed the first place followed by artist Fahad Abdullah Al Zadjali; Jumah bin Salim Al Battashi; Eiman bint Ali Al Khatiri and Ibrahim bin Mohammed Al Yahmadi, respectively.
Artist Dr. Fakhriyah bint Khalfan Al Yahyaei, member of the committee supervising the contest, said that the contest is an initiative to discover the talents of artists in drawing the portraits.
Artist Nada Al Roshdi, who secured the first place said that she had carefully chosen her portrait for the contest.
Fahad Al Zadjali, who grabbed the second place, said that he participated in this event due to its importance.
Jumah Al Battashi, who secured the third place, said that his participation in the event represents a unique artistic experience.
