
Muscat— President Duma Gideon Bokoof the Republic of Botswana affirmed that he discussed with His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik ways to strengthen and deepen bilateral relations between the Sultanate of Oman and the Republic of Botswana, particularly in the fields of mining, energy, green energy production, and fuel.
In a statement to Oman News Agency (ONA), he noted that his country is making intensive efforts to open an embassy in Muscat. He indicated that these efforts are at an advanced stage, and the embassy is expected to be operational by the end of this year.
He explained that this step would be followed by other initiatives, including the launch of a direct air link connecting Muscat with the capital, Gaborone, to boost economic relations between the two countries and strengthen ties of cooperation between their friendly peoples.
The President further stated that the two countries are moving forward to conclude additional agreements and establish partnerships in numerous fields, including health, academic exchange, and culture.
