
Tashkent: The Sultanate of Oman’s national team player Dawood Al Yusufi has won silver medal at the World Junior Taekwondo Championships held in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, after a strong march that saw him meet the strongest players in the world in the 48 kg category.
With Fahad Al Yusufi as his coach, Dawood Al Yusufi mastered outstanding skills that enabled him to go past the strongest international players from Egypt, Russia, China, Taipei and Kazakhstan.
The World Junior Taekwondo Championships saw the participation of 986 players representing 115 countries. Dawood Al Yusufi managed to reach the final match and win second place at the global level, from among 57 players who competed in the same category where he lifted world silver trophy.
Dawood Al Yusufi emerges as one of the most promising athletes designated by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth. His programme received the backing of an elite group of specialists in sports planning and physical fitness.
