
Muscat: The wilayats of Al Kamil Wal Wafi, Sur, and Jaalan Bani Bu Hassan in South Sharqiyah Governorate have begun harvesting this year's wheat crop.
Ali bin Salem Al Hashmi, Director of the Department of Agriculture Wealth and Water Resources in Al Kamil Wal Wafi, stated that the area cultivated with wheat in the governorate reached 41 feddans, with an expected yield of more than 50 tons of wheat for the 2025/2026 agricultural season, depending on the seed variety.
He added that the Ministry of Agriculture , Fisheries, and Water Resources continues to provide the latest international standards to ensure the quality and sustainability of production, as well as technical and advisory support to farmers. This support includes promoting the application of best agricultural practices, providing improved seeds and modern machinery, and streamlining post-harvest procedures to ensure that the product reaches the markets in high quality.
The Ministry has also contributed to providing wheat harvesting machinery to facilitate the process for farmers and help them harvest grain quickly and efficiently using a modern and advanced system that has contributed to increasing product efficiency and achieving agricultural sustainability.
