
Muscat:His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik gave an audience at Al Barakah Palace today to Dr. Abbas Araghchi, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran
At the outset of the audience, the Iranian Minister conveyed the greetings of President Dr. Masoud Pezeshkian of the Islamic Republic of Iran to His Majesty the Sultan, along with his wishes of good health and wellbeing to His Majesty. President Pezeshkian also wished the Omani people further progress and prosperity.
On his turn, His Majesty the Sultan asked the Iranian Minister to conveying his greetings and best wished of good health and success to President Pezeshkian. His Majesty also wished the people of Iran permanent security and stability.
During the audience, consultations were held on the evolving situation in the region, as well as on mediation efforts and diplomatic endeavours aimed at bringing an end to ongoing conflicts. His Majesty the Sultan was apprised of the Iranian perspective regarding these developments.
In turn, the Iranian Minister listened to His Majesty's views on ways to advance these efforts so as to enhance the prospects for reaching sustainable political solutions and to mitigate the repercussions of regional crises on the peoples of the region. His Majesty the Sultan affirmed the importance of prioritizing the language of dialogue and diplomacy in the resolution of outstanding issues, thereby contributing to the consolidation of the foundations of lasting peace.
For his part, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran expressed his country's deep appreciation for the firm positions of the Sultanate of Oman, under the wise leadership of His Majesty, in backing dialogue efforts and reinforcing endeavours to achieve security and stability across the region, particularly in light of the prevailing regional challenges.
The audience was attended by Sayyid Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi, Foreign Minister, Esmaeil Baghaei, Spokesperson and Head of the Centre for Public Diplomacy and Media at the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Mousa Farhang, Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to the Sultanate of Oman.
