Ministry of Finance launches tax grievance system

Muscat: Acting in coordination with the Tax Authority, the Ministry of Finance on Wednesday launched a Tax Grievance System, which aims to facilitate the posting of tax grievance claims and the follow-up of relevant action until such time that a final decision is issued in each case.

The new system is in pursuance of efforts made by the Finance Ministry to develop government services under its supervision.

The system seeks to streamline procedures in a manner the fits with the digital transition drive, enhance oversight, improve reporting and support accurate decision-making that is based on reliable data.

The Tax Grievance System offers various electronic services. These include the digital filing of complaints via the electronic system, submitting attachments, tracking claims and enabling applicants to receive the decision of the Tax Grievance Committee, in addition to archiving the applicants' data and documents.

The launch of the Tax Grievance System is a step forward that reflects efforts made by the Ministry of Finance to update, develop and automate procedures with the prime objective of enhancing transparency and augmenting the efficiency of integrated electronic mechanisms.
