Muscat: As part of its ongoing efforts to encourage reading among rising generations, the Sultan Qaboos Higher Centre for Culture and Science today launched the 15th edition of “Iqra” Reading Contest (2026) for young people.
The organizing committee said that subscription to the competition begins today and continues until 1 October 2026—the deadline for submitting summaries and receiving entries.
The competition aims to develop the skills of students in reading, summarizing and analyzing contexts. The contest contributes to grooming a well-informed generation that is capable of keeping pace with the developments of time and events.
