Muscat: The Royal Air Force of Oman (RAFO) on Tuesday celebrated the graduation of a new batch of recruits at the military parade ground at Ghala Base and the Sultan Qaboos Air Academy.
The event was held under the patronage of Retired Major General Abdulaziz Abdullah Al Manthri, and in the presence of Air Vice Marshal Khamis Hammad Al Ghafri, Commander of the Royal Air Force of Oman.
The ceremony featured a series of diverse military displays. Then, the graduates chanted the anthem of the Royal Air Force of Oman, took the oath of loyalty, pledged allegiance and proclaimed thrice: “Long live His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik, the Supreme Commander.”
Outstanding performers of the course were also recognised. Recruit Ali Mohammed Belhaf secured first place overall for the course, Recruit Munthir Musabih Al Ghamlasi achieved top honours in military drill, and Recruit Mohammed Nasser Al Adawi earned first place in light weapons marksmanship.
