Muscat : His Excellency Sayyid Saud bin Hilal Al Busaidi, Minister of Culture, Sports and Youth, affirmed that the annual celebration of Omani Youth Day, which falls on October 26th each year, is a source of pride in the determination and ambition of young Omanis, and a testament to their pivotal role in the national development process and shaping the future.
This year's celebration, themed "Determination," underscores the unwavering will of Omani youth and their ability to transform challenges into opportunities and aspirations into achievements.
In his address on the occasion of Omani Youth Day, His Excellency explained that the determination we celebrate today transcends individual will. It represents a national approach where efforts are integrated and visions and responsibilities are unified.
He commended the role of government institutions and the private sector in creating a supportive environment to empower national talent.
His Excellency added: “In this context, OQ Group’s support for the establishment of the Youth Center in Muscat, valued at OMR 20 million , exemplifies national partnership and embodies the private sector’s role in providing a stimulating environment that enables young people to develop their skills, refine their talents, cultivate their ideas, and transform their initiatives into value-added projects.”
His Excellency explained that, based on the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth’s belief that empowering youth is not limited to providing opportunities, but extends to enhancing their ability to influence and actively participate in decisions that affect their present and future, we continue to work on developing the youth work system, elevating its programs and initiatives, strengthening integration with various sectors, and building effective partnerships that respond to the aspirations and needs of young people. Through this, we strive to shift empowerment efforts from capacity building to impactful action, and from participation to contributing to shaping priorities and solutions, based on the premise that young people are partners in development and an active national force in its sustainability and renewal.
His Excellency noted that on Omani Youth Day, we reaffirm our pride in the nation's youth and our confidence in their ability to continue the journey of building and achievement.
He emphasized that investing in their potential is an investment in Oman's future, and that their determination and perseverance, coupled with the institutional support and effective national partnerships they enjoy, form the foundation for further progress and prosperity. With the resolve of youth, aspirations are renewed with the efforts of institutions, opportunities are strengthened and with integrated partnerships, the horizons of achievement expand.
