HH Sayyid Bilarab patronises 2026 Omani Youth Day ceremony

Muscat: HH Sayyid Bilarab bin Haitham Al Said, Minister of State and Governor of Muscat, patronised on Monday the Omani Youth Day ceremony, which falls on the 26 of October every year.

The event was held at the headquarters of the Youth Centre in the Governorate of Muscat.

This year's celebration comes under the theme "Azm" (Resolve), which reflects the will and ambition in the personality of the Omani youth, who derive from their land the values of steadfastness and boldness, making them an approach in their lives and choices, and setting off from them toward shaping their future.

The theme also reflects the spirit of a generation that is not content merely with carrying the legacy of its predecessors, but is resolved to add to it and continue the march of building and achievement, in a manner that keeps pace with the Sultanate of Oman's aspirations toward the future.

The ceremony commenced with a tour of the event's experience and the Youth Centre's facilities, alongside meetings with a number of accomplished and enterprising youth. This was followed by the youth's speech and a visual presentation that reviewed the journey of youth work and the most prominent efforts and initiatives undertaken by the Youth Centre in this sector over the past five years. This included the announcement of the soft opening of the Centre's branches in the governorates of Dhofar and Musandam.

The ceremony included the signing of 7 agreements with public and private sector institutions. An agreement was signed with OQ Group to fund the main branch of the Youth Centre in the Governorate of Muscat at a value of OMR20 million. This contributes to developing an integrated environment to incubate youth energies and creativity, enhancing opportunities for qualification, innovation, and entrepreneurship, and providing supportive spaces to develop their ideas and transform them into initiatives and projects with sustainable impact.

Furthermore, a strategic partnership agreement was signed with Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI), Oman Telecommunications Company (Omantel), and ETCO Space. An investment partnership agreement was also signed with Oman India Fertiliser Company (OMIFCO), along with a logistical partnership agreement with Al Mutamayaza Motors Company. In addition, the Centre signed a memorandum of understanding with the Oman Oil Marketing Company to study investment opportunities for developing and investing in lands belonging to the Youth Centre.

The ceremony also included honoring a number of contributors and supporters of the youth sector from various entities.

The occasion this year coincided with the passing of five years since the opening of the Youth Centre, which continues to implement its programs and initiatives aimed at developing youth skills and refining their capabilities in multiple fields, including innovation, technology, and entrepreneurship. It also continues to provide an environment that stimulates creativity and initiative, while enhancing partnerships with various institutions.
