Muscat: Research priorities in the first year of the Omani Cultural heritage programme were discussed on Tuesday.
The discussions came at the sixth meeting of the Steering Committee of the Omani Cultural Heritage Programme held at the Public Authority for Radio and Television (PART) on Tuesday under the chair of Dr. Abdullah bin Nasser Al Harrasi, Chairman of PART.
The meeting also discussed the Cultural Heritage Programme document which was approved by the Research Council (TRC) in March 2017. Besides, the operational plan of the programme was also discussed.
The operational plan will focus on a number of research priorities in the first year of the programme within the six priorities adopted, namely Omani personalities, tales and legends related to places, industrial tools, the history of Omani places, the pre-Islamic history of Oman, dialects and languages.
The meeting approved the plan in which researchers in the field of cultural heritage research will be trained in cooperation with different bodies.
