Muscat: Dr Mohamed Redha Mustafa, senior consultant dermatology and Genito Urinary Medicine, joined Lama Polyclinic, Al Khuwair branch recently.
Eng. Redha Juma Al-Saleh, managing director of Lama Polyclinic said, “It gives us an immense pleasure in welcoming Dr Mohammed Redha Mustafa into Lama family. Dr Mohammed Redha is highly experienced senior consultant in Dermatology and Genito Urinary Medicine. He has joined us to take the clinic to another level by extending his more than 30 years expertise in the field of treating skin diseases, Genito urinary diseases and infertility related problems.”
Dr Mustafa has served more than 40 years with the Ministry of Health and major part of that was at Al Nahdha Hospital and has worked as a senior lecturer for 6th-year medical students of Sultan Qaboos University, College of Medicine, Al Khoud also. He was actively involved for several years in teaching programme for the Arab Board, Dermatology & G.U.M. He also has chaired sessions in selected Dermatological and STI topics for the future dermatologists for all regions in Oman.
He was a Sr. Consultant in Dermatology & G.U.M. in Al Nahdha Hospital working as Head of Dermatology Department and in charge of Male Infertility Clinic for more than 15 years. He was also a member of the Dermatology Scientific Committee of Oman Medical Specialty Board.
Dr Mustafa is actively involved in teaching programmes, attending local & GCC and international conferences involved in Ministry of Health programmes and WHO programmes for education. He has attended several local, GCC and international conferences and presented several scientific papers on topics like Azoospermia, hormone treatment of oligospermia, the prevalence of STDs in different regions in Oman.
Being the focal point for HIV/AIDS prevention programme for the capital area, Dr Mustafa looked after all the HIV positive patients regarding counselling for them and their families and the treatment. He also played an active role in HIV/AIDS prevention programme by giving lectures for students of Ministry of Education, Oman & to the soldiers of Oman Force regarding preventive programmes for HIV/AIDS.
He appeared on the TV and radio to educate the community regarding prevention of AIDS & STI and on different aspects of dermatological conditions several times. His health education articles were published in local newspapers routinely.
