Muscat: During the past five years, the Oman Development Bank has approved more than 35,000 development loans with a value of more than OMR 303 million , which included multiple sectors in the various governorates of the Sultanate, with an average annual growth of 8 percent in terms of the value of the loans provided.
The loans included projects in various sectors: tourism, agriculture, education, health, manufacturing, and mining.
The CEO of the Oman Development Bank said: "The increase in the lending activity of the Oman Development Bank during the last five years has contributed to empowering Omani youth to implement their pioneering projects in various promising economic sectors."
He added in a statement to Oman News Agency: "The bank seeks to double its efforts and expand its services in a way that enhances the fulfillment of the role assigned to it in empowering the small and medium-sized enterprises sector, increasing their contribution to the gross domestic product and achieving local added value."
