
Salalah: The Municipal Council of Dhofar Governorate discussed a set of developmental and service projects in the governorate, alongside reviewing reports from its specialised committees on various topics and initiatives.
This took place during the Council's meeting held on Sunday under the chairmanship of HH Sayyid Marwan bin Turki Al Said, Governor of Dhofar.
The Council views a presentation given by Dhofar Municipality regarding the determination of public parking fees across the governorate.
The Council also discussed allocating a designated site for auto enthusiasts in the Wilayat of Salalah, aiming to provide a safe and prepared environment for practicing these activities under regulations that ensure public safety and align with the optimal use of public spaces.
The Council reviewed the report of the Governorate Development Committee on the field visit to the planned agricultural investment zone in Raysut area and the promising investment opportunities it encompassed. Additionally, the Council reviewed the report submitted by the Social Affairs Committee regarding its visit to the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Authority, and the programs and initiatives offered to empower entrepreneurs, enhance the role of SMEs, and create local added value.
The Council was also briefed on the results of the committee's visit to Oman Environmental Services Holding Company (be'ah) to learn about its efforts in the fields of environmental awareness and corporate social responsibility.
The Council discussed recommendations from the Health and Environmental Affairs Committee regarding addressing dilapidated buildings, regulating the construction of farm fences, and efforts aimed at improving the urban appearance in the Wilayat of Salalah. It emphasized the importance of establishing clear executive programmes that align with urban development efforts in the governorate.
The Council also reviewed the statements received from Dhofar Municipality regarding the progress in implementing the "Green Belt" initiative, alongside discussing efforts related to regulating advertising and directional signs on roads and at tourist sites.
